First Class Tire & Wheel Protection Plus FAQs

Price

This coverage seems expensive—is the add-on cost worth it?

We completely understand budget concerns, especially with a new Mercedes-Benz purchase. While the upfront cost might feel steep, consider that a single tire replacement for your Mercedes can run $400–$600, and a wheel repair or replacement often exceeds $1,000–$2,500 per unit due to the premium materials.

With unlimited claims and no mileage limits, this plan pays for itself after just one incident. Plus, you can finance it into your monthly payments at a low rate, spreading it out without straining your cash flow—many customers find it's a smart way to protect their asset long-term.

The deductible seems high for what it covers?

We hear you—the circumstantial $50 per tire or $100 per wheel deductible for replacements might seem like an extra hurdle, but there's no deductible at all for cosmetic wheel repairs, which are limited to 4 (or 8 for longer terms) and cover those frustrating scrapes and scratches that add up quickly.

Compared to paying full price out-of-pocket—where even a minor repair can cost $200–$400—this low deductible ensures you're only responsible for a fraction while we handle the rest, including taxes, labor, and balancing.

It's a balanced approach that makes claims straightforward and affordable.

Can I find a similar tire protection plan cheaper from a third-party provider?

Third-party options might seem more affordable upfront, but they often lack the seamless integration with Mercedes-Benz service centers, leading to reimbursement hassles or incompatible parts that void warranties.

Our First Class plan is backed by Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, uses OEM-approved repairs at any authorized dealer, and includes exclusive perks like unlimited structural claims and easy transfers. The peace of mind from dealer-direct handling—without the risk of denied claims—makes it a premium choice that truly matches your vehicle's luxury standards.

If I sell or trade in my car will this just go to waste?

Great question—this plan is fully transferable to a new private owner or lessee for just a $40 fee, which enhances your vehicle's resale value by up to $500 or more, as buyers love the added security.

It's available on new, certified pre-owned, or even pre-owned Mercedes-Benz models, so it travels with the car. Many of my customers who trade in early still come out ahead because the coverage has already protected them or boosts the trade-in offer from us.

How long does the coverage actually last?

The term is flexible, typically 60 months or longer (up to 84 months in some cases), with no mileage restrictions, so it aligns perfectly with your ownership plans. For shorter terms, you get 4 cosmetic repairs; for 61+ months, it's 8. This ensures long-term protection as your tires and wheels age and become more vulnerable.

We can customize it to your needs at purchase, and since it's only available then, it's a one-time decision that safeguards your investment for years.

Insurance

Will my auto insurance cover tire and wheel damage?

While comprehensive insurance does cover some road hazards, it often comes with high deductibles ($500+) and requires filing claims that could raise your rates.

First Class Tire & Wheel Protection Plus works alongside your insurance as a first payer for covered damages, and no impact on your premiums. It also covers cosmetic scrapes and scratches that insurance typically won't touch, plus towing and rental reimbursement up to $100.

This keeps things simple and cost-effective, avoiding the hassle of insurance adjusters.

Doesn't the manufacturer's warranty cover this for me already?

The Mercedes-Benz new vehicle warranty is excellent for defects, but it doesn't extend to road hazard damage like potholes, nails, or debris—which are the most common causes of tire and wheel issues.

The First Class Tire & Wheel Portection Plus plan fills that gap by covering structural damage and replacements for the life of the term (up to 60 months or more), including run-flat tires and alloy wheels. It's unlimited in claims, so you're not left footing a bill that could easily top $1,000 after the basic warranty expires.

Is this coverage is too limited?— it only handles road hazards, not everything.

You're right that it's focused on road hazards like glass, rocks, potholes, and nails, plus cosmetic wheel damage, but that's by design to target the most frequent and expensive issues for Mercedes-Benz owners.

Exclusions like vandalism or neglect are standard to keep premiums reasonable, but what it does cover is comprehensive: full replacements with no mileage cap, towing, and rental support. For broader needs, it pairs perfectly with your existing insurance, providing specialized protection where it matters most without overlap or waste.

Practicality

I drive very carefully and live in an area without many potholes, so do I really need it?

Even the most cautious drivers encounter surprises—urban construction, debris on highways, or unexpected hazards like curbs during parking. Road conditions have worsened in many areas, and a single unseen pothole can bend a wheel or puncture a tire instantly. This plan gives you worry-free driving with coverage for those "just in case" moments, including cosmetic repairs for everyday dings from tight spots or gravel roads.

At the end of the day, it's about preserving your Mercedes-Benz's pristine condition and resale value without unexpected out-of-pocket costs.

Should I worry about cosmetic repairs—aren't my wheels tough enough already?

Mercedes-Benz wheels are engineered for excellence, but curb rash, scrapes from parking, or road debris can happen to anyone and detract from that showroom shine—repairs alone can cost $200–$400 each.

While you might not prioritize it now, the plan's cosmetic coverage (no deductible) is bundled efficiently with the road hazard protection, offering comprehensive care without extra cost. It's about maintaining your vehicle's aesthetic and value effortlessly, so you can enjoy the drive without minor blemishes turning into bigger headaches.
